The Apple Time Capsule seemed like a great idea when it was unveiled about a decade ago. It was a Time Machine network backup target that also embedded a Wi-Fi gateway and ethernet sharing. Typically one Time Capsule will provide wifi for approximately 2,000 square feet. If that doesn't cut it, you can add an additional Airport Extreme or Airport Express to act as a booster.
