compiling an OpenBSD kernel is very different from a linux kernel, with the main difference being that you edit a config file instead of having a menu to do it. Personally, i like it better - seems cleaner to me to edit a file instead of having another program edit a file for me.

Having given OpenBSD that initial try, I have decided that it’s still a candidate, but that it seems a little too primitive on the desktop yet, and that I would be giving up quite a bit without getting much in return, in terms of my needs.
